Summary

FIRST THE MARKET DEVELOPMENT OF FROZEN MEALS IS ANALYZED FROM THE SIXTIES UNTIL NOW. THERE IS A NEED TO INFORM THE CONSUMER ABOUT THE TERMS COOLED AND FRESH, BECAUSE OF THE LARGE VARIETY OF PRODUCTS CONCERNED. THE GROUPING OF THESE PRODUCTS IS CHARACTERIZED BY A NOTABLE OVERLAP. THE CONCLUSION IS DRAWN THAT MUCH MONEY AND TIME WILL BE NECESSARY TO ESTABLISH THE POSITION OF CHILLED AND FRESH READY-TO-USE MEALS ON THE MARKET. THE MARKET SEEMS TO GROW FASTER IN BREADTH THAN IN DEPTH.
