The performance evaluation of HFC alternative refrigerants for HCFC22.

Summary

R134a, R32-R134a, R32-R125-R134a and R32-R125 are proposed as candidate alternatives. Though pure refrigerants such as R32 and R125 are not currently considered as alternatives, the authors evaluated their performance to obtain more accurate data for theoretical analysis. They conducted system drop-in and optimized tests with 0.8 ref-ton (2.80 kilowatts) split type air conditioning unit, a widely used unit in Japan. In addition, they conducted simulation to evaluate the effect of composition ratio.
