THE ROLE OF R22 IN REFRIGERATING AND AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT.

Summary

R22 IS ONE OF THE SOLUTIONS TO THE OZONE DEPLETION PROBLEM. BECAUSE OF ITS LOW OZONE DEPLETION POTENTIAL, R22 IS PART OF THE INTERIM SOLUTIONS FOR THE SUBSTITUTION OF CFC REFRIGERANTS. EXCEPT FOR A FEW APPLICATIONS, OTHER FACTORS SUCH AS EFFICIENCY, TOXICITY, SAFETY, MATERIALS COMPATIBILITY AND COMMERCIAL AVAILABILITY, MAKE IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT OF R22 IMPOSSIBLE. FURTHER RESEARCH IS NECESSARY FOR PRODUCING NEW REFRIGERANTS WITHOUT OZONE DEPLETION POTENTIAL.
