The storage of Jonagold apples in Ultra-low oxygen-circumstances.
Author(s) : HERREGODS M., GOFFINGS G.
Type of article: Periodical article
Summary
The variability in maturity and storability of Jonagold apples makes it necessary to pick the fruit on different dates, between 3 and 5 times with different starch content, firmnesses and fruit weights. Ultra-low oxygen storage at 1% oxygen with 1.5-2% CO2 at 0.5-1 deg C gave firm, green fruits of high quality with low susceptibility to storage disorders, including scald, even after a long storage period.
