Summary
Six pear cultivars were assessed. Both Doyenné du Comice and Packham's Triumph tolerated up to 3% CO2; ultra-low oxygen concentration (1%) improved the keeping quality of these 2 cultivars. In the case of the other cultivars, low-oxygen concentration increased their sensitivity to CO2.
