Theoretical design and analysis of cold storage type carbon dioxide air conditioners.

Author(s) : ZHANG H., XUAN Y., ROETZEL W., et al.

Summary

In this paper, cold storage type carbon dioxide (R744) air conditioners are investigated theoretically. The authors first describe the system configuration and operation modes. Then brief design calculation model is built to get the cooling capacity and COP especially for subcooling operation mode. Finally heat transfer enhancement of ice melting type subcooler by using porous aluminium is briefly analyzed. The preliminary work done by the authors shows that cold storage type R744 air conditioners are a good choice for future potential applications.
