Summary

X-RAY STUDIES OF LATTICE PARAMETERS OF SOLID CO2 AND N2O HAVE BEEN CARRIED OUT FROM 5 TO 195 AND 100 TO 182 K, RESPECTIVELY. THEIR DENSITIES, MOLAR VOLUMES, THERMAL EXPANSION COEFFICIENTS HAVE BEEN DETERMINED AND HEAT CAPACITIES AT CONSTANT VOLUMES, THE GRUNEISEN COEFFICIENTS, ADIABATIC AND ISOTHERMAL COMPRESSIBILITIES CALCULATED. WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE LAW OF CORRESPONDING STATES, THE THERMAL EXPANSION COEFFICIENTS OF CO2 AND N2O ARE PRACTICALLY DESCRIBED BY A SINGLE CURVE AND THEIR PHONON COMPONENTS IN THE HIGH TEMPERATURE RANGE AGREE WELL WITH THE INVESTIGATION RESULTS OF SOLID ARGON AND KRYPTON.
