Thermodynamic properties of mixtures of ozone-safe refrigerants FC218-HFC134a and HFC152a-HFC134a.

Summary
Massive amounts of information on liquid-vapour equilibrium and the thermal properties of these mixtures are obtained by using an experimental variable-volume apparatus with optical cell and investigations of these systems' critical parameters are carried out. A new method of calculating the density of saturated vapour is developed and its validity tested. It was ascertained that the standard refrigeration parameters of the mixture R152a-R134a at 0.8 concentration come closest of all to those of R12 and surpasse those of R134a. In addition, it is non-flammable and soluble in commercially available oils which makes it a very promising refrigerant for the purpose of designing new refrigerating equipment. Thermodynamic tables of reference data are compiled. A 7-page dissertation abstract and a description of the results in the English language is included. During the Hague Congress of the IIR, August 19-25, 1995, the author was awarded the IIR Sadi Carnot Prize to young researchers for this work.
