Three decades of superconducting magnet development.
Author(s) : DESPORTES H.
Summary
Superconducting magnet technology was born in the early 1960's after the discovery by Kunzler of the high-field properties of new superconductors, niobium(3)-tin and niobium-zirconium. The paper retraces some of the adventurous developments leading to the present state-of-the-art.
