THREE PRESSURE VAPOUR ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION CYCLE: A THERMODYNAMIC STUDY.

Summary

A THERMODYNAMIC ANALYSIS IS MADE OF A THREE PRESSURE VAPOUR ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION SYSTEM CYCLE. THE GENERATOR OPERATES AT A HIGHER PRESSURE THAN THAT OF THE CONDENSER. THE EFFECT OF THIS PRESSURE DIFFERENTIAL, DP, IS STUDIED. THE REFRIGERANT-ABSORBENT COMBINATIONS CONSIDERED ARE R21-DMF, R22-DMF, R22-DMETEG AND AMMONIA-SODIUM THIOCYANATE. IT IS OBSERVED THAT A MAXIMUM OF UP TO 30% INCREASE IN THE COP, AS COMPARED TO CONVENTIONAL CYCLES, CAN BE ACHIEVED BY A SUITABLE CHOICE OF DP. THE R22-DMETEG SYSTEM OPERATES THE MOST FAVOURABLY.
