Summary

The paper points out the importance of recovering heat from refrigerating plants coupled to the heat pumps of water falls type system. For the two-stage ammonia refrigerating system coupled to an R114 heat pump, some parameters are given, on the basis of which an optimization was realized by using the equation for the thermodynamic data of the two fluids. Coupling of the refrigerating system to the heat pump through a condenser-vapour device presents advantages in comparison with separately operating systems. The operation of coupling is independent of the ambient temperature, a fact that makes possible the optimization of the working conditions.
