Summary

The paper presents a way to predict scald development; defining the calculation of "accumulated cold units", and of a DIS (10%) index, corresponding to the number of days at -1° C after which 10% of pears show scald symptoms. The plotting of these data through various regression analyses leads to an equation allowing the prediction of scald development.
