USE OF NATURAL COLD AIR IN THE USA TO REFRIGERATE COLD STORES AND PRODUCE ICE DURING WINTER, IN EG DAIRY FACTORIES, IS DISCUSSED. COLD AIR CAN BE (1) ADMITTED DIRECTLY FROM THE OUTSIDE TO THE COLD STORE ; (2) USED TO COOL A REFRIGERANT, WHICH MAKES ICE FOR AN ICE BANK ; OR (3) USED TO PRODUCE SLUSH/ICE BY MISTING WATER INTO A CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT.
