Summary
The basics for water vapour compression systems are described. A process water cooling plant operating with water as the only refrigerant is described. The installed refrigeration capacity is approximately 2 megawatts. The plant operates with an energy efficiency almost twice as good as with conventional refrigeration systems working with for example R22 or ammonia.
