Summary

The paper summarizes several publications. The authors describe a prototype of a refrigerating plant using water as a refrigerant on an industrial scale (about 2 refrigerating megawatts at 9 deg C). This prototype has been integrated into the production process used to manufacture the famous LEGO toys and cools the machines used to extrude plastic in the factory in Billund, Denmark.
