Type of article: Article
Summary
PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF AN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION TO COMPARE THE PERFORMANCE IN THE CLIMATE OF KUWAIT OF WATER-COOLED AND AIR-COOLED AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS. STATES THAT 2 IDENTICAL CHILLED WATER AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS INCORPORATING AIR-COOLED AND WATER-COOLED CONDENSERS, WERE USED INDEPENDENTLY TO SUPPLY THE COOLING DEMAND OF A SPACE. THE WATER-COOLED SYSTEM REQUIRES 40% LESS PEAK POWER AND 25% LESS ELECTRICAL ENERGY. THE ENERGY REQUIREMENTS CAN BE REDUCED FURTHER IF SEA WATER IS USED FOR CONDENSER COOLING IN PLACE OF DESALINATED SEA WATER. (INT. BUILD. SERV. ABSTR., GB., 24, N 5, 1989/09-10, 89-01451.
