A few figures on greenhouse gas emissions and HCFC consumption in Mauritius

Illustration of the evolution of CO2 and HFC emissions between 2013 and 2016, and of the decrease of HCFC consumption in Mauritius.

A document published by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of Mauritius entitled Digest of Environment Statistics 2016, contains a few figures about greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, including CO2 and HFCs.

In 2016, CO2 was the main GHG, representing 75.9% of total GHG emissions with 4,074.5 Gg. In comparison, HFCs represented 0.1% with 7.53 Gg CO2eq (see Table 1).

Table 2 shows the decrease of HCFC consumption between 2012 and 2016 in Mauritius.
