Type of article: Article

Summary

Commercially available liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and propane (HC290) from the New Zealand market were tested in the laboratory as alternative refrigerants for HCFC-22 in air conditioning and refrigeration/heat pump applications. The performance of LPG mixture was better than pure HC290 and it was considered equally safe for the components of the system.
