A review of energy savings technology: refrigerant subcooling.
Author(s) : KATIPAMULA S.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The article focuses on a new refrigerant subcooling implementation which modifies a standard direct-expansion, vapour compression refrigerant system through the addition of a liquid line heat exchanger downstream from the condenser and mini cooling tower to reject the heat from the heat exchanger. States that because of additional first cost it is economical only with certain applications. The technology is proving particularly applicable in direct expansion, vapour compression air conditioning equipment.
