Summary
Fruit weight, size, colour, firmness, total soluble sugar, acidity and starch content were determined for Williams (Williams Bon Chrétien) and Abate Fétel and Kaiser pears after harvesting. It was concluded that indices of harvesting readiness for storage differ from those for fresh consumption. The quality indices for harvesting for fresh consumption are given for each cultivar.
