A STUDY ON TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION IN CABBAGE TISSUES SUBJECTED TO FREEZING TEMPERATURE. PART 2. FINITE ELEMENT MODELLING.

Author(s) : ROBERT J. L., et al.

Summary

FROM EXPERIMENTAL TEMPERATURE PROFILE MEASUREMENTS IN CABBAGE, ESPECIALLY THE DIFFERING BEHAVIOR OF THE LEAF ZONE AND THE STALK ZONE, IT HAS BEEN CONCLUDED THAT THE ELABORATION OF A NUMERICAL MODEL OF THERMAL BEHAVIOR AND TEMPERATURE PROPAGATION SHOULD BE OF INTEREST. THE MAIN AIM OF THIS STUDYWAS TO FIT AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE, FROM A THERMAL POINT OF VIEW, THE PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF THE TWO ZONES. THE NUMERICAL RESULTS ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT WITH TEMPERATURE PROFILE MEASUREMENTS.
