Summary

Within the framework of the European "BiopostHarvest" project, focused on the development of biocontrol agents protecting fruits against storage diseases, trials were carried out, with identical protocols in Spain, France and Italy, using an antagonistic yeast on apples and pears. In small-scale tests, the yeast showed a certain efficacy, which could not be confirmed in packing station trials, because of the natural infection level by Penicillium, which was too low.
