Affection of nano-Fe(3)O(4) on the saturated pressure of mixture HFC-134a/mineral oil.

Summary

An experimental rig was assembled and used to measure the saturated pressure of a refrigerant. Since the diameter of nano-particle is quite small, and nano-particle has specific properties, such as the surface action, volume action, quanta-size action and tunnel action, the saturated pressure of mixture HFC-134a/mineral oil is affected by adding nano-Fe(3)O(4). By measuring the saturated pressures of mixture HFC-134a/mineral oil and mixture HFC-134a/mineral oil/nano-Fe(3)O(4), it was found that the saturated pressure curve of mixture HFC-134a/mineral oil/nano-Fe(3)O(4) was higher than that of mixture HFC-134a/mineral oil. It means that the COP of an HFC-134a refrigeration system would increase when the working fluid was treated by nano-Fe(3)O(4). This inference was experimentally validated in a refrigerator.
