Alternative refrigerants.
Type of article: Periodical article
Summary
A current list of some proposed alternative refrigerants and their ASHRAE Classifications is tabulated. Previously, refrigerants were recognized by UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and they are now being classified to provide identification to the user of the refrigerant or to an authority having jurisdiction that the refrigerant has complied with the UL requirements. Note that some refrigerants, including some blends, may be produced by more than one manufacturer. Indications are also given concerning the CFC or HCFC that they can replace. In the appendix, refrigerants are classified by trademarks.
