Summary
Carbon dioxide is a natural refrigerant which is used in refrigeration due to its excellent both thermodynamics and heat transfer properties, in addition it does not produce harmful effects to environment. In this paper a simulation of behavior of coefficient of performance versus some variables as gas cooler exit temperature, evaporation temperature, compressor isentropic efficiency, effectiveness of internal heat exchanger (IHX) and superheating degree in a 3D model of a transcritical installation which operates with four different configurations is shown. In addition this paper presents one application for the secondary fluid in the gas cooler for the thermal power generated in this equipment. The analysis of behavior shows the best configuration in order to operate the installation at the same conditions and an optimum pressure is obtained. This installation is being built in Guanajuato, Mexico as a prototype in order to realize experimental test of industrial refrigeration.
