Type of article: Article

Summary

X-RAY STUDIES WERE CARRIED OUT ON THE CERAMIC IN THE TEMPERATURE RANGE 5 TO 293 K. BELOW 200 K, SYMMETRY LOWERING FROM TETRAGONAL TO ORTHORHOMBIC HAS BEEN FOUND. WITHIN THE SUPERCONDUCTIVE TRANSITION INTERVAL (BELOW 40 K) ANOMALIES IN THE LATTICE PARAMETERS AND THERMAL EXPANSION HAVE BEEN OBSERVED WHICH CORRELATE WITH THE HEAT CAPACITY ANOMALY.
