Application of the configuration coefficient for heat generating cargoes.

Author(s) : MEFFERT H. F. T.

Summary

The product temperature range calculated from air temperature range and an experimental configuration coefficient for cargoes without heat generation must be corrected by the addition of the over-temperature of the cargo units, caused by heat production. For the over-temperature an analytical model exists, based on the thermophysical properties of the cargo unit. This relationship forms the basis for a simple method to predict the product temperature range, based on the determination of the configuration coefficient by experiments without internal heat load, corrected by the addition of the over-temperature of the cargo units on an experimental or theoretical basis.
