Summary

THE AMOUNTS OF CATCHES OF SALMON, BONITO AND COD IN JAPAN IN 1982 WERE ABOUT 136,000, 320,000 AND 1,150,000 TONS, RESPECTIVELY. THESE FISH WERE PROCESSED AS FROZEN PRODUCTS BY FACILITIES AT SEA OR ONSHORE. THE PRODUCTION OF FROZEN PRODUCTS IN 1982 WERE 38,000 TONS OF SALMON, 130,000 TONS OF BONITO AND 256,000 TONS OF COD. THE PROCEDURES FOR FREEZING TREATMENTS ARE DESCRIBED.
