Summary

Food industry processing requires perfect control of ambient conditions. Parameters such as temperature, hygrometry, dust and particles, overpressure and content of gas, are major technological challenges. Those previous elements guarantee at the same time cold chain, control over product weight-loss and sanitary quality. Air conditioners used in the Food Industry are based on heat exchange technologies, via cooling or heating exchangers. They are made of mechanical exchange elements (plain tubes, finned tubes, stainless steel plate...) fed by refrigerant fluids or coolants. The cleaning requirements of exchange elements are usually subject to compromises, defined according to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) model of users (accessibility to air conditioners equipments, frequency and products used to clean). The Bio Control Cyclonic is a new approach of air treatment for food industry processing. It includes a set of functions which answer to all of those requirements. This article introduce the different solutions offered by this new generation of air conditioners as well as a unique way to identify heat exchanges by spraying, developed by ONIRIS Nantes.
