Summary

Regression analysis was used to compare Petrifilm(TM) with reference methods. Concerning the aerobic colony count there was a strong linear relationship between both methods. Although the correlation coefficients for the coliform and E. coli count were lower than for aerobic count, the difference was not enormous. Petrifilm is an easy alternative to traditional microbial enumeration methods.
