Summary

COMPRESSOR SELECTION IS A KEY-SUBJECT IN THE ATTEMPT TO SOLVE THE CFC SITUATION. MID-TERM POSSIBILITY IS THE CHOICE FOR R22 AS MAIN REFRIGERANT. SUGGESTIONS ARE GIVEN FOR RELIABLE PLANT CONTRIBUTIONS AND COMPONENT SELECTION. THE CONSUMPTION OF R12 AND R502 FOR NEW PLANTS COULD BE DECREASED CONSIDERABLY. TO ACHIEVE THIS AND TO IMPLEMENT THE SHORT TERM EMISSION REDUCTION PROGRAM A MENTALITYCHANGE AND ENTIRE EVALUATION WILL BE NECESSARY. REFRIGERATION PLANTS WILL GO UP IN PRICE. WITH THE RIGHT SELECTION AND INSTALLATION, HOWEVER, IT IS EXPECTED THAT RUNNING AND SERVICE COSTS COULD BE LOWER.
