Summary

The paper deals with alternative technologies which will be applied to convert refrigerator and freezer manufacturing companies. Experiences collected at UNIDO as an international implementing agency in this respect are outlined. The most important details with respect to the application of different technologies like R134a and isobutane as refrigerant, and the application of R141b and cyclopentane as foam blowing agents are explained.
