Summary

A NEW WAY FOR DISRUPTION OF BACTERIAL CELLS WAS INVESTIGATED. WITH CCB THE FROZEN CELLS ARE PROJECTED ONTO A HARD METAL SURFACE, IN A NITROGEN GAS FLOW OF SONIC SPEED. YIELDS OF DNA AFTER DISRUPTION WAS MEASURED AND COMPARED WITH RESULTS FOR OTHER WAYS OF DISRUPTION (FOR ESCHERICHIA COLI, BACILLUS SUBTILIS AND LACTOBACILLUS PLANTARUM). IT IS POSSIBLE TO PROJECT THE CELLS 2 TIMES ON SHEET METAL ; THUS, YIELDS IN DNA ARE INCREASED (ARTHROBACTER GLOBIFORMIS).
