Type of article: Article
Summary
The current status of R123 as the alternative to R11 in air-conditioning, refrigeration and heat pump systems is reviewed. The theoretical Rankine COP and the pressure ratios have been presented for heat pumps operating on R123. Composite plots between pressure ratio, theoretical Rankine COP and condensing-evaporating temperatures for the appropriate temperature ranges are presented for R123 for refrigeration and heat-pump systems.
