Design and simulation of heat pumps and air conditioning equipment using pure and mixed refrigerants with modular modelling.

Author(s) : BENSAFI A.

Summary

Novel features of the proposed model are the strategy and formalism adopted. Individual mathematical models for component design are dynamically linked to enable the simulation of a vapour compression cycle. The paper introduces some of the component modules, which can be used for pure as well as mixed refrigerants. The proposed model is validated with experimental results. Discrepancies smaller than 5 percent are obtained on the cooling duty and COP. An air conditioning unit using high pressure refrigerant R410A is optimized to illustrate the use of the model.
