Development and testing of a zero ODP replacement for R12 in centrifugal compressors.
Author(s) : PEARSON S. F., PEARSON A. B.
Summary
The paper describes how a drop-in replacement for R12 for use in centrifugal compression refrigerating system was developed and tested. The method was to blend components of higher molecular weight than R12 with R134a in such proportions that the pressure-temperature relationship of the blend was similar to that of R12 and the molecular weight of the blend was about 121. A suitable blend has been commercialised.
