Summary
Logistics / cold chain industries facing labour shortage as depopulation and aging society and increase demand of variable temperature storage control for food hygiene management following HACCP standard. Due to the background, importance of temperature quality and traceability management is increasing in logistics industry. The portable refrigerator, cold roll boxes (hereinafter referred to as CRB), is able to set chilled temperature and frozen temperature, and then it is available mixed transport of three temperature control goods as chilled, frozen, and non-refrigerated goods using several CRBs in non-refrigerated truck. The product can keep 10 hours in chilled condition (1~8℃) or frozen condition (-20℃ or less) by cold storage materials without power supply (non-compressor cooling operation), and also it has a function of temperature monitoring system for traceability. Also this study introduces approach of new low GWP refrigerant, R448A adaptation in logistics and cold chain industry which is behind for solving global warming and environment protection.
