Development trends of ammonia refrigeration technology.

Summary

This paper demonstrates the characteristics of ammonia refrigerant, analyzes the application status and the existing problems of ammonia refrigeration systems at home and abroad, and illustrates the development trends of ammonia refrigeration technology from the aspects of system optimization, improvement of control technology, safety guarantee, and compaction of ammonia systems. According to safety requirements of design codes and manuals of ammonia refrigeration systems, the discussion of some main problems to be solved was followed. And the ideas of simplifying ammonia systems were presented. The authors hold that the development of small-scale ammonia refrigerant compressors should be speeded up, and the theoretical and experimental studies on both ammonia equipment and practical applications should be attached importance to achieve the aims of simplifying system, propelling the compaction and extending the application scope of ammonia refrigeration systems in China.
