LOW TEMPERATURE TRANSPORT IS USED FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF FRESH FISH AND SHELLFISH, BUT THIS MAY LIMIT THE STORAGE LIFE. THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM DURING DISTRIBUTION IS TO MAINTAIN FRESHENESS, AND MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE PACKAGING HAS BEEN DEVELOPED FOR THIS PURPOSE. THERE IS A GROWING NEED TO INCLUDE IN THESE DEVELOPMENTS THE FIELDS OF HIGH TECHNOLOGY, BIOTECHNOLOGY AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.
