Summary
Cucumber cv. Aramis seedlings, planted on heated straw bales, pine bark or plates of domestic rockwool, were raised in a tunnel with a fertigation-controlling computer. The nutrient solution (pH 5.5-5.7) used contained: Fe (2.0 mg/litre), Mn (0.6), B (0.35), Cu (0.15), Zn (0.33) and Mo (0.06). Harvest was conducted during the beginning of fructification (dates I and II), intensive fructification phase (dates III and IV) and closing phase of fructification (date V). Fruits harvested during dates I and III were stored better, and their market value after 21 days of storage was highest. Significant differences in weight loss among cultivation years were observed.
