Summary
Ber, hardy fruits grown in Northern India, were treated postharvest with CaCl2, Ca(NO3)2, gibberrellic acid-3 or bavistin, under varying concentrations, then stored at 3 to 5°C (85-90% RH) for 10, 20 or 30 days. Cellulase activity, phenol content, sensorial characteristics and percentage rotting were determined. The best treatment was gibberellic acid-3 used at a concentration of 60 ppm.
