Summary
Results of trials carried out in the 1997 and 1998 seasons on 30-year-old trees in El-Behera Governorate, Egypt, revealed that preharvest proline foliar sprays (0.5-1.5%, applied at full bloom, fruit set and 4 weeks before harvest) significantly reduced chilling injury during cold storage (5 °C, 80% relative humidity) of Marsh grapefruits and Washington Navel oranges.
