Evaluation of mixture enthalpies through a predictive method based on the modified Huron-Vidal (MHV-2) cubic group-contribution equation of state.

Summary

The aim of this work is to test the applicability of a recent UNIFAC group-contribution equation of state to enthalpy calculations in refrigerant mixtures and to compare it with the classical method utilizing an equation of state and mixing rules with interaction parameter kij regressed from vapour-liquid-equilibrium data. A rigorous correlation for the energy parameter evaluation is considered: in this way, it is possible to predict with reasonable accuracy the excess enthalpy values for the examined mixtures.
