Summary

In this report, the author applies the exergetic analysis to the vapour-compression cycle and defines the exergetic relations. He establishes a model of a theoretical cycle and a model of a real cycle for achieving the exergetic analysis with a microcomputer. He applies this analysis to three domestic refrigerators operating with R12, R134a and propane, in order to illustrate the distribution of exergetic losses and to identify potential improvements, and even to define new cycle designs.
