EXERGETIC COMPARISON OF REFRIGERATING MACHINES AND HEAT PUMPS.

COMPARAISON EXERGETIQUE DES MACHINES FRIGORIFIQUES ET DES POMPES A CHALEUR.

Author(s) : BENELMIR R., et al.

Summary

A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF SINGLE-OR MULTI-STAGE, MORE OR LESS COMPLEX REFRIGERATING MACHINES AND HEAT PUMPS, IS CONDUCTED WITH THE APPLICATION OF FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS WHICH WAS ALREADY USED IN THE STUDY OF POWER CYCLES. IN THIS METHOD, EACH ELEMENT OF THE MACHINE HAS A MAIN FUNCTION WITH RESPECT TO THE EXERGY AND NEGENTROPY FLUXES, INTERNAL TO THE SYSTEM. THE QUALITY OF EACH COMPONENT AND THE LOCATION OF THE DISSIPATIONS ARE HIGHLIGHTED. THE RESULTS OF THIS STUDY LEAD TO THE DETERMINATION OF THE SYSTEM'S OPTIMAL DESIGN AND THE BEST CHOICE OF REFRIGERANT.
