Summary
RESEARCH WAS DONE TO EXPLORE PROMISING NEW REFRIGERANTS USED IN COMPRESSION HEAT PUMPS AND REFRIGERATORS. EXPERIMENTS WERE CARRIED OUT ON A WATER-TO-WATER HEAT PUMP TESTING UNIT WITH THE R22-R142 MIXTURE AND THE PURE REFRIGERANTS R22, R142 AND RTHE RESULTS SHOW THAT R22-R142 IS A PROMISING WORKING FLUID WHICH CAN REPLACE THE WIDELY USED R12 TO ALLEVIATE AIR POLLUTION. IT CAN SAVE 8-10% IN COMPRESSOR POWER COMPARED WITH R12.
