Summary
The authors tested the heat output, power consumption and COP of an air-source heat pump system with the alternative refrigerants of R134a, R404A and R407C under typical air-conditioning conditions. The results show that the performance of R407C is closer to that of R22 and it is the best alternative refrigerant for R22 in air-source heat pumps.
