Experiments of condensation heat transfer in horizontal tubes: influence of tube length.

Author(s) : SHAO W., GRANRYD E.

Summary

The paper reports on results of measurements on heat transfer and pressure drop during the condensation of R22, R134a inside tubes. Tests are done using a horizontal tube of 6 mm inside diameter with different effective condensing lengths, 2, 5, and 10 m respectively. Experimental data provide some information needed when determining "optimal tube length". The test ranges in this work are condensing temperatures 30-50 deg C, refrigerant mass flux is up to 380 kg/m2.s, and heat flux is up to 46 kilowatts/m2.
