Experiments on concentration difference energy and engines (CDE) and considerations on future utilization.

Author(s) : ISSHIKI N., OGAWA K., KAMOSHIDA J., et al.

Summary

Since 1975, the authors' laboratories have been studying a new energy and engine system that uses the absorption heat of very concentrated salt solutions for the generation of steam to drive engines by exhaust steam absorption itself. The system is called a concentration difference energy and engine. The paper reports the theory and experiments of many model cars and full-size cars etc. driven mainly by LiCl, LiBr and CaCl2 salt mixtures in solutions heated by gas burners or waste paper or waste wood combustion energy etc. for concentration.
