ANISAKIS, A KIND OF PARASITE FOUND IN COD, MACKEREL, HORSE MACKEREL AND SQUID ETC, CAN BE DESTROYED BY FREEZING TO 268 TO 264.5 K (-5 TO -8.5 DEG C) USING A CRYOMICROSCOPICAL METHOD. PRACTICALLY, ANISAKIS ARE FREEZE-DESTROYED IF FISH ARE STORED FOR 1 DAY AT 263 K (-10 DEG C) AND BELOW. COMMERCIALLY FROZEN FISH STORED AT 253 K (-20 DEG C) IS FREE OF ANISAKIS.
